Parents Sue After Elementary School Teacher Personally Discusses ‘Gender Identity’ With Son, Making Him Confused

WOODBURN, Ore. — The parents of a nine-year-old boy have sued their school district for $1 million after they state that the child’s elementary school teacher assumed he had “transgender” inclinations and began to personally teach him about “gender identity” — without his parents’ knowledge.

The parents, whose names have not been disclosed, state that a second grade teacher at Nellie Muir Elementary School in Woodburn, Oregon held their son back during recess to introduce to him books and videos “in an effort to promote [him] becoming transgender.”

The situation occurred in April 2018 when the child began using the staff restroom in the midst of having a digestive-related medical condition that he wanted to be discreet about.

The teacher, who has not been named, allegedly assumed that the student didn’t want to use the boys’ restroom because he identified more as a girl. The lawsuit states that the teacher asked their son if he was transgender and worked up a lesson plan to help him understand what the term means.

According to the Statesman Journal, the lessons included episodes of the TLC show “I Am Jazz [Jennings],” as well as the books “I Am Jazz” and “Who are You? The Kid’s Guide to Gender Identity.”

The parents allege that through this content — which was recommended by a transgender friend of the teacher — the boy was also exposed to discussions on male and female reproductive organs.

When the week concluded, the teacher had the boy take the books home. His parents found the materials in his backpack and contacted the school to express concern.

The following month, officials released a letter following an investigation to confirm that there was evidence that the teacher had held the student back during recess and had shared controversial material without his parents knowledge.

The teacher was then instructed to notify parents in the future should she plan to address “controversial issues.”

However, the parents state that their son was left traumatized by the experience. According to KPTV in Oregon, the boy has been seeing a therapist and is taking anti-anxiety medication.

“He feels different now. He feels confused. To hear your son say that … on a couch talking to a therapist, holding back his tears, it’s very heartbreaking,” the mother told the outlet, outlining that “if he plays with my niece, he’s a girl in that moment. If he plays with my nephew, now he’s being a boy.”

However, he is reportedly also fearful that if he plays with girls toys, that he will become a girl.

Both parents state that they both have suffered emotionally from the matter as well, as the father suffers from panic attacks and the mother struggles with anxiety and depression.

They have sued for false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress, and are also alleging that the Woodburn School District was negligent in that it did not properly supervise the teacher.

The lawsuit asks for $79,999 for therapy and medication, as well as $920,000 in damages.

Romans 16:19 says, “I would have you wise unto that which is good and simple (innocent) concerning evil.”

NC Charter School Hosts ‘Pride & Liberation’ Event Featuring Performances by Drag Queens

DURHAM, N.C. — A charter school in North Carolina recently hosted a “Pride & Liberation” event for students that included performances by two drag queens.

According to reports, two eighth grade teachers at Central Park School for Children in Durham — Taylor Schmidt and Schara Brooks — wanted to address the bullying of  homosexual and “transgender” students at the school and decided to put on a drag show.

“If we’re going to be a school that’s focused on equity and justice, and if we’re going to be a school that believes in the act of liberation, we need to be creative with our approach,” Schmidt told the Greensboro News & Observer.

The event featured two drag performers that go by the names Vivica C. Coxx and Stormie Daie, who spoke to the students and performed songs such as “Big, Blonde and Beautiful” from “Hairspray,” as well as Beyonce and Nicki Minaj tunes.

The outlet reports that Daie wore a layered rainbow skirt, and “[c]heers erupted when [he] pulled the skirt off to reveal a gold jumpsuit and knee-high gold boots.”

The Central Park School for Children step team also put on a performance, and a discussion panel was presented that included the two drag queens, openly homosexual Durham City Council member Vernetta Alston, and Helena Cragg, the executive director of the LGBTQ Center of Durham.

The event was held at the end of a week educating students on historical homosexual and transgender figures. Students from kindergarten through the fourth grade could also voluntarily attend a drag queen story time with Daie.

“You hope that the children listen to this,” Daie told CNN, “so that they know we didn’t have this when we were growing up. We weren’t seeing people like us being celebrated.”

As previously reported, a high school in Pennsylvania also presented a drag show for students last week as several students dressed as the opposite sex and danced on stage for their peers.

The Philadelphia Enquirer and the College Fix report that the “Gay-Straight Alliance” at Penn Wood High School in Lansdowne organized a day-long event entitled “Coming Home: A Place for Everyone to Feel Safe.”

Morning sessions held at the school library centered on “Being an Ally,” “Navigating the World: College and Beyond” and “LGBTQ+ Health Issues.” In the afternoon, students could attend “singing and runway performances” in the auditorium, as well as a video on the Stonewall riots and a presentation on “the history of drag.”

Students reportedly could choose to go to class or attend one or more of the events. The drag show included three male students who dressed as females and danced to songs such as “Killing Me Softly” and “Level Up.”

As previously reported, the Bible teaches that all men are born with the Adamic sin nature, having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God and being utterly incapable of changing by themselves. It is why Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth and be transformed from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’

Nicodemus saith unto him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’

Jesus answered, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again.’”

Jesus also outlined in John 8:34-35, “Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. … If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

‘LGBT Explosion’: Pa. High School’s ‘Gay-Straight Alliance’ Presents Drag Show in Auditorium During School Hours

LANSDOWNE, Pa. — Unbeknownst to local residents, a “Gay-Straight Alliance” at a high school in Pennsylvania presented a drag show on Wednesday during school hours as part of a day-long event entitled “Coming Home: A Place for Everyone to Feel Safe.”

An anonymous tipster alerted The College Fix about the event at Penn Wood High School in Lansdowne, and provided photographs of a promotional flyer posted in various locations at the taxpayer-funded educational institution.

Boyle

The advisor for the Alliance is school nurse Tracy Boyle, “a 13 year year certified school nurse and educational specialist,” according to information on the school’s website.

“In addition to support, some GSAs work on educating themselves and the broader school community about sexual orientation and gender identity issues,” an overview from the headquarters of the Gay-Straight Alliance Network also states.

“They may bring in outside speakers to cover a particular topic such as LGBTQ history. They may organize a ‘Pride Week’ or ‘LGBTQ Awareness Events’ and offer a series of educational workshops, panels, and pride celebrations.”

The concerned individual who contacted The College Fix opined that there has seemingly been an “LGBT explosion” following the retirement of Superintendent Joe Bruni.

“Bruni seemed to keep the more egregious LGBT genies in the bottle. He did not allow drag shows. He also turned down the drama director when she originally proposed ‘RENT’ as a school musical,” they stated.

“Since Mr. Bruni’s retirement years ago, … the high school has offered special scholarships for LGBT students [and] there has never been any significant pushback against the LGBT agenda in this school. Trans and gay kids are [now] quite open in their expression at the school.”

The informant remarked that there are “many religious people” in Lansdowne, and that “[m]ost of them have pulled their kids out of Penn Wood High School and sent them to parochial or Christian schools, but they still pay taxes to the school district. There are also many African Christians, who would be alarmed [at this program].”

Christian News Network spoke with some of the students at the school, and found that there were varying opinions about the event. Some supported the programs, while others said that they chose not to attend.

One local Christian distributed gospel literature outside of the school on Thursday and explained to students why God created male and female, which stirred discussion during the after-school outreach.

Lansdowne, a borough just outside of Philadelphia, is known for its “progressive” leadership and mindset. In 2002, it was marked as a “No Place for Hate” community by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). In 2005, Kevin Lee became the first open homosexual on the borough council.

However, as previously reported, William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania and the namesake of the William Penn School District that oversees the Penn Wood High School, was a street preacher and was once put on trial for causing a “tumultuous assembly” with his preaching.

He was also the author of such books as “No Cross, No Crown: A Discourse Showing the Nature and Discipline of the Holy Cross of Christ.”

“If men loved the cross of Christ, His precepts and doctrine, they would cross their own wills, which lead them to break Christ’s holy will and lose their own souls in doing the devil’s,” he wrote in the publication. “Had Adam minded that holy light in Paradise more than the serpent’s bait and stayed his mind on his Creator, the rewarder of fidelity, he [would have] seen the snare of the enemy and resisted him.”

“Did Christ submit His will to His Father’s, and for the joy that was set before Him, endure the cross and despise the shame of a new and untrodden way to glory? Thou must also submit thy will to Christ’s holy law and light in thy heart, and for the reward He sets before thee, to wit, eternal life, endure His cross …”

Editor’s Note: Those wishing to express their concerns about the event may contact Superintendent Jane Ann Harbert at 610-284-8005.

UK Member of Parliament Under Fire for Questioning ‘Age Appropriateness’ of Lessons at Primary School

(The Christian Institute) A Birmingham member of Parliament (MP) who raised concerns about the “age appropriateness” of four and five-year-olds learning about homosexual and transgender issues has faced a barrage of criticism.

Roger Godsiff’s constituency includes Anderton Park Primary School, where parents have been protesting about the content their children receive.

But following his remarks, another Labor MP, the deputy leader of Birmingham City Council and two journalists have all railed at the MP.

Godsiff, who voted against same-sex “marriage” but in favor of the controversial new primary-level Relationship Education subject, said parents should have been consulted more thoroughly.

University Settles With Christian Apologetics Group Denied Registration for Requiring its Leaders to Be Christian

(The College Fix) On Monday, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs settled a lawsuit brought by a student Christian apologetics group alleging its religious freedom had been violated when the university tried to dictate the makeup of the group’s leaders.

In November, Ratio Christi sued the public university, alleging its officials refused to formally recognize the group as a campus organization based on its top members’ “expression and religious beliefs.”

Ratio Christi is “a global movement that equips university students and faculty to give historical, philosophical, and scientific reasons for following Jesus Christ,” according to its website.

Beginning in 2016, Ratio Christi was denied formal recognition by the university due to the group’s requirement that its leaders must “share and personally hold Christian beliefs.”

Scripture Removed From School Retaining Wall Following Complaint

NORTH EDWARDS, Calif. — A Scripture citation written on a retaining wall at a public school in California has been painted over following receipt of a complaint from one of the nation’s most conspicuous professing atheist organizations.

The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) had submitted the letter to the Muroc Joint Unified School District, northeast of Los Angeles, in February, outlining that a “concerned parent” had alerted the organization last summer that “Hebrews 13:20-21” was written on the cement block wall near the main office of Desert Junior-Senior High School.

“The district violates the Constitution when it allows its schools to display religious symbols or messages. Public schools may not advance, prefer or promote religion,” the correspondence read. “This display violates this basic constitutional prohibition by creating the appearance that the district prefers religion over non-religion and Christianity over all faiths.”

“The display alienates those non-religious students, families, teachers and members of the public whose religious beliefs are inconsistent with the message being promoted by the school,” it also asserted, stating that religion is “divisive.”

FFRF requested that the school district remove the Scripture and advise the organization what steps it would take to ensure that religious messages are not posted at the school again.

On Friday, FFRF announced in a press release that Superintendent Kevin Cordes had responded in writing to assure the Church-State separation group that the Bible verse had been erased.

“[T]he district has removed the Bible verse painted on the retaining wall at Desert Junior-Senior High School,” he simply wrote, enclosing before and after photographs.

Read the response in full here.

FFRF cheered the development, asserting that “[t]he illustration of a Bible verse on school property undeniably paints the picture that the school endorses that religious message.”

However, while some contend that the U.S. Constitution requires God and His word to be kept out of public schools, others point to the writings of the founders to dispute that such was the intent.

As previously reported, in 1828, just 41 years after the signing of the Constitution, Noah Webster, known as the Father of American Scholarship and Education, wrote, “In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government, ought to be instructed. … No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.”

He also wrote in his publication “Letters to a Young Man Commencing His Education”:

“Let it then be the first study of your early years to learn in what consists real worth or dignity of character. To ascertain this important point, consider the character and attributes of the Supreme Being. As God is the only perfect being in the universe, His character, consisting of all that is good and great, must be the model of all human excellence, and His laws must of course be the only rules of conduct by which His rational creatures can reach any portion of like excellence.”

Dr. Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and vice-president of the Bible Society of Philadelphia, said in expressing his disagreement with deists who were opposed to using the Bible in schools:

“In contemplating the political institutions of the United States, I lament that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes, and take so little pains to prevent them. We profess to be republicans, and yet we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government, that is, the universal education of our youth in the principles of Christianity by means of the Bible, for this divine book, above all others, favors that equality among mankind, that respect for just laws, and all those sober and frugal virtues, which constitute the soul of republicanism.”

Freedom From Religion Foundation Wants Ten Commandments Plaque Removed From Ohio Middle School

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — One of the nation’s most conspicuous Church-State separation groups has sent a letter to an Ohio school district to request that it remove a plaque at an area middle school that features the Ten Commandments.

The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) says that it was contacted by a parent who advised that Welty Middle School in New Philadelphia has a Decalogue plaque near the entrance to its auditorium. The plaque cites the class of 1926 at the bottom.

“This plaque is a flagrant violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment,” FFRF’s letter claims, contending that “no court has upheld the display of the Ten Commandments in a public school.”

The group also asserts that students and others will view the sign as an endorsement by the school, and those who are not Christian or Jewish will feel like outsiders.

“The district’s promotion of the Judeo-Christian Bible and religion over non-religion impermissibly turns any non-Christian or non-believing parent, student or staff member into an outsider,” FFRF writes. “School children already feel significant pressure to conform from their peers. They must not be subjected to similar pressure from their school, especially on religious questions.”

Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor further remarked in a press release that even the first of the Commandments poses an issue as students shouldn’t be told which God to serve.

“The First Commandment alone is reason why public schools may not endorse the Commandments,” she said. “Students in our public schools are free to have any god they like, as many gods as they like — or none at all! In America, we live under the First Amendment, not the First Commandment.”

FFRF has asked that the Ten Commandments display “be removed immediately to ensure that NPCS is complying with constitutional requirements.”

It is not known if the district plans to respond.

Read the letter in full here.

As previously reported, FFRF has also asked a circuit attorney in Missouri to remove a Scripture plaque from outside her office at the local courthouse, and influenced an Illinois city to cancel its trip to Ken Ham’s Ark Encounter in asserting that the offering was unconstitutional.

Blackstone

However, while some say that mention of God and His word is inappropriate and unconstitutional for government leaders, others point to various examples in America’s beginnings.

According to reports, for more than 100 years in early America, those in the legal profession often looked to British judge William Blackstone’s “Commentaries on the Laws of England,” which regularly pointed to God’s Law as the foundation for civil and criminal law.

“Considering the Creator only as a being of infinite power, He was able unquestionably to have prescribed whatever laws He pleased to His creature, man …, ” Blackstone wrote in 1753. “But as He is also a being of infinite wisdom, He has laid down only such laws as were founded in those relations of justice, that existed in the nature of things antecedent to any positive precept. These are the eternal, immutable laws of good and evil, to which the Creator Himself in all His dispensations conforms; and which He has enabled human reason to discover, so far as they are necessary for the conduct of human actions.”

John Adams, second president of the United States, wrote in his diary on Feb. 22, 1756, “Suppose a nation in some distant region, should take the Bible for their only law book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited. Every member would be obliged in conscience to temperance and frugality and industry, to justice and kindness and charity towards his fellow men, and to piety and love, and reverence towards almighty God.”

“In this Commonwealth, no man would impair his health by gluttony, drunkenness or lust—no man would sacrifice his most precious time to cards, or any other trifling and mean amusement — no man would steal or lie or any way defraud his neighbor, but would live in peace and goodwill with all men. No man would blaspheme his Maker or profane his worship, but a rational and manly, a sincere and unaffected piety and devotion, would reign in all hearts.”

“What a Utopia, what a paradise would this region be,” Adams declared.
