Thousands of Christians March for Jesus in France

(Evangelical Focus) On May 25, thousands of French Christians took the streets to participate in a new edition of the Marche pour Jesus (March for Jesus).

This year, the marches took place in six cities: Lille, Marseille, Metz, Montpellier, Paris and Strasbourg.

French Christians, as well as a large number of Latino and African migrants, got together to pray for the nation, give Bibles in French and Arabic, and share the message of the gospel with posters, songs and conversations.

Christian Radio Station Has Opportunity to Broadcast Signal ‘Unblockable by North Korean Regime’

(Evangelical Focus) North Korea is the most dangerous country in the world for Christians, according to Open Doors World Watch List.

“If Christians are discovered, not only are they deported to labor camps as political criminals or even killed on the spot, their families will share their fate as well. Christians do not even have the slightest space in society, on the contrary, they are publicly warned against,” Open Doors says.

Despite these difficulties, the Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC), which broadcasts Christian radio programs in short and medium wave, now has the opportunity to build an AM transmitter in South Korea, a few kilometers from North Korea.

The AM station of 250,000 watts “is a perfect location because the signal goes across the ocean for a few miles and then goes right into North Korea,” said Ed Cannon, president of FEBC.

Canadian Preacher Arrested for Disturbing the Peace as Crowd Rejects Message of the Gospel

TORONTO — A Canadian preacher was arrested on Tuesday and charged with disturbing the peace as he was met with opposition while sharing the gospel in a section of Toronto known as “the Gay Village.”

David Lynn of Christ’s Forgiveness Ministries had been on a preaching tour throughout Toronto, and says that he was not specifically targeting homosexuals when he began preaching at Church and Wellesley.

In video posted to social media, Lynn can be heard explaining that all men have sinned, whether heterosexual or homosexual, as all have violated the laws of God.

“Jesus died for the sinner. Did you know that every person is a sinner?” he preached into a microphone. “Every heterosexual has sinned. Every homosexual has sinned. And sin is when we violate the laws of God and we go contrary to the things of faith.”

Those nearby began to surround Lynn with the rainbow flag and other banners and block him from proceeding down the sidewalk as he walked. Some held signs with messages such as “Love is love” and “If your religion teaches you to hate, then you need a new religion.”

The crowd of opposition soon began to grow.

“I’m here to tell you today that you deserve respect. Every person is deserving of respect,” he said, as an angry group gathered around him.

At one point, in the early part of the outreach, Lynn began to individually ask those standing in opposition, “Would you tolerate me as a Christian?” but none wanted to answer.

Police later addressed Lynn and told him that he could be arrested for causing a disturbance, and so he turned his microphone off and preached on the sidewalk with his bare voice.

“Jesus Christ is calling all people to Himself,” Lynn declared, but his words were drowned out by the shouts of the crowd.

Officers soon approached Lynn again and advised that he was under arrest.

“This is against the law. Jesus Christ died for everybody,” Lynn stated to the police as he was being led away.

When asked what he had done wrong, Lynn was told that he had caused a disturbance and a breach of the peace.

“How so?” Lynn asked. “I was sharing the gospel.”

Police radio footage alleges that Lynn was making “derogatory comments” toward homosexuals that disturbed the people, but the officer also acknowledged, “I don’t know what those comments were or what he was saying.”

Lynn was later released on bail and was reportedly ordered to stay away from any homosexual pride events in the city, according to Global News.

In speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, Lynn said that he was not trying to target homosexuals as he had been on a preaching tour throughout all 22 districts of the city, conducting outreach at Kensington Market earlier that day and also reaching the homeless the day prior. He denied directing his speech toward “sexual orientation” while at Church and Wellesley.

“What I did say is that there’s hope for everybody and God loves you. I repeatedly said that,” Lynn stated. “I didn’t go deep into any sexual orientation talk.”

“I didn’t go to any event,” he added. “It looked as though they had an ‘event’ waiting for me, and they had some form of hatred against me. And it was very clear.”

Spain: 10 Million Live in Towns Without Evangelical Presence

(Evangelical Focus) In spite of being the religious minority that grows the most in Spain, according to the last report of the Observatory of Religious Pluralism; evangelicals do not have presence in 331 towns of more than 5,000 inhabitants.

That is shown in the latest update of the register of municipalities without evangelical churches, made by the Christian organization Decision, with contrasted data from the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain (Ferede) and the mission organisation Evangelism In Depth (EVAF).

According to these data, more than 10 million people in Spain live in places that have not been reached by the gospel.

“The result shows that of the 8,131 villages in Spain, 92% have no evangelical church yet. The challenge of reaching the villages between 5,000 and 20,000 inhabitants, far from the capitals, still stands and continues to be one of the great shortcomings of the mission in Spain,” Decision said.

Wife of Missionary Killed in Cameroon Thanks Supporters for Prayers After Learning Masses on Liver Not Cancerous

Photo Credit: Stephanie Wesco/Praying for Stephanie Wesco

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The wife of an American missionary killed in Cameroon in October is expressing gratitude to God and those who have prayed for her as she has now learned that the masses on her liver are not cancerous.

“[W]e met the liver specialist to go over everything, and he finally informed me that all the tests and labs had come back with no cancer! There are no words to describe how I felt at that moment. All I remember thinking was, ‘God did it!'” an update on the Praying for Stephanie Wesco Facebook page outlines.

As previously reported, Wesco went to the emergency room last month to have herself checked for appendicitis due to pain, but a scan found that she rather had a lesion on her liver.

“My doctor ordered an MRI, just to double check the lesion, and it revealed 4-5 masses in my liver,” she announced on April 6 in a status posted by a family friend.

Wesco asked for prayer for herself and her eight children, and noted that she would be obtaining testing and a biopsy at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. A later update outlines that she obtained a PET scan and other tests, and upon meeting with a specialist, she learned with much relief that she does not have cancer.

“I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for your outpouring of love, prayers and support. The Lord heard and answered those prayers, and to Him be the glory!” Wesco exclaimed.

She also shared a photograph of Scriptures that she had written in a journal with the notation, “Declared cancer free!”

“And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee, for Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee. Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion; declare among the people His doings,” Wesco wrote in her journal from Psalm 9:10-11.

As previously reported, the Wescos moved to Cameroon last October after selling their house and possessions in Indiana. They had been working for two years to raise support to conduct missions work in the nation, and had previously served in South Africa in 2003 and 2004.

However, just two weeks following their arrival, while the couple was out for a shopping trip, Charles was tragically shot in the head with his wife sitting right behind him in the car.

“My precious husband, Charles, is now with the Savior he adored and faithfully served for many years,” Stephanie Wesco wrote on a GoFundMe page that had been set up for the family. “His life focus was seeking to cause others to love Jesus and serve him. My prayer is that somehow someway Jesus will be glorified through my precious Charles’ death and that God will not let his death have been in vain.”

Wesco had served as assistant pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church in South Bend, where his father was pastor emeritus. His brother is state Representative Timothy Wesco, R-Osceola, and also serves as a pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Elkhart.

Stephanie Wesco says that she still mourns the loss of her husband and some of her children do not understand why their father is not here.

“As I woke up this morning, a huge part of me wanted to just curl up and cry for an hour, as the nightmarish scenes from that fateful Tuesday replayed again,” she shared on April 23. “My little girl climbed up in bed with me and asked where daddy is. I told her that Daddy is in Heaven with Jesus. ‘But why [is] Daddy not at our house with Jesus?’ Oh, how my heart broke, as I tried to tell her that Jesus thought it was best for Daddy to go live in Heaven.”

But Wesco also says that she will never forget the words the doctor in Cameroon spoke to her when she learned that her husband had not survived.

“I think back to the day he was killed and will never forget what the doctor said to me, shortly after finding out that Charles was with Jesus: ‘Thank you for coming to my country. Thank you that your husband was willing to give his life for my people.'”
